Skill With Prize machines are known as 'SWP's' and are often called Quiz Machines. This class of machine includes any type of game which requires an element of skill or knowledge in return for a cash prize. The games tend to be played against the clock to ensure that a player doesn't have too long to solve the question or problem.

Over the last ten years SWP games boomed and have improved quickly along with advances in computer technology that have bought video and audio to the genre.

Current favourites include the popular TV shows "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" and "The Weakest Link". Many games now use "touch-screen" technology which allows the play to make a selection simply by pressing a finger on top of the correct answer on the screen, however many games still use buttons. These games are not to be confused with simple "Touchscreen" games which are purely for entertainment purposes that do not pay out any prizes

SWP's are particularly popular in pub and club type locations where groups of friends can pit their collective wits against the game over a few pints.
